Message from the New Chair
“As your new County Chair, I am pleased to say that my immediate predecessors, Billy O'Gurek and Tina Henninger, left the party well-organized and united.
We have four active clubs, an energized executive board, a unified state party, and a list of competent volunteers willing to help staff events and work on campaigns.
I am also aware that Carbon County Democrats have a tough road ahead of us.
Rocky Ahner is our only County-wide office holder. We are represented in the State House of Representatives by the ineffectual Doyle Heffley, first elected in 2010, and in the State Senate by the ineffectual David Argall, first elected in
2009. Both of these men have served way past their pull dates.
At the national level we are represented by U.S. Rep. Ryan MacKenzie, a MAGA clone and millionaire who never met a Trump policy he didn't support.
In the U.S. Senate we have David McCormick, elected in 2024 and unable to form a thought that wasn't fed to him by Trump. This needs to change.
One of my firm beliefs is that complaining about our government is not enough. Sitting in front of the television and grumbling about how bad things are accomplishes nothing. We need to take action.
We have our challenges-increasing our registration numbers, electing Democrats to the state appellate courts, staffing events around the county, and fighting the unpatriotic and, let's face it, idiotic MAGA policies.
I pledge to do my utmost to strengthen our party and move this County forward. I won't be able to do that without your help and support.
